I wrote & directed RISE under an alias SHIRZAN due to being a a dual national, and I wanted to be anonymous during the film's hype. The film was made with Black Dog Films / RSA Films.

We were predicted to win at the Oscars, but we couldn't enter on technicality of the full film being on youtube. 

​

However Rise still won a number of awards across the industry, and featured in international media outlets such

as Variety Magazine, CNN and MSNBC news in America.
